Here is a list of dog parks that are relativity close to Andover, using Andover City Hall as a reference point. (If you have one to add to this list, please let us know!)

Happy Acres (Temporary) Dog Park, Blaine, MN

Directions to Happy Acres
Distance from Andover City Hall: 6.4 miles
Amenities: Full fence (hockey rinks), seperate area for small dogs, clean-up bags, free admittance, restroom, parking
Downside: No shade, no benches, muddy grass
Notes: Bring own water, closes in September 2010

Trackside Dog Park, Coon Rapids, MN

Directions to Trackside
Distance from Andover City Hall: 6.7 miles
Amenities: Benches, full fence, shade, clean-up bags, free admittance
Downside: No parking, no restroom
Notes: Bring own water

Alpine Dog Park (Ramsey Bark Park) Ramsey, MN

Distance from Andover City Hall: 10.8 miles
Amenities: Full fence, clean-up bags, free admittance, restroom, parking, wooded trail, water
Downside: New trees do not provide large shaded areas (yet!), but picnic tables do
Notes: The water spicket for the dogs has it’s own drain so there is no excess mud, softball fields help provide plenty of activity

Anoka County Locke Dog Park, Fridley, MN official website

Elm Creek Preserve Dog Park, Maple Grove, MN official website

Directions to Elm Creek Preserve Dog Park
Distance from Andover City Hall: 12 miles
Amenities: Full fence, clean-up bags, restroom, parking, wooded trails, ponds, lots of shade
Downside: This park is more of a place to hike with your dog off-leash then it is as a socialization dog park, $5/day fee or $35 annual pass

Elk River Dog Park (at Lions Park), Elk River, MN

Downside: No shade
